DNA WEEK is a unique week when students, teachers and the public can learn more about genetics. 25th of April is an official DNA DAY and it reminds us the discovery of the double helix of DNA in 1953 and the end of the human genome project in April 2003. Worldwide events and competitions for young people, students and the general public are held every year on this day. Students have the opportunity to present their scientific projects to reasearchers from the field, as well as to listen to various lectures. The pilot year of this event was held in Slovakia in 2003 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the DNA structure discovery. In 2018, we will remember the 65th anniversary of this discovery and the DNA WEEK event will be realized again in Slovakia.
Posters and interactive stands will show you what was already discovered.
Lectures will be given by prominent scientists from Slovakia as well as from abroad.
Discussion on this topic will be held begin the week of DNA discovery.
