DNA DAY will take place live at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University Bratislava.

WHAT IS DNA DAY?

DNA DAY is International DNA Day, during which the whole world commemorates the discovery of the double-stranded structure of DNA (1953) as well as the completion of the Great Human Genome Project (2003). On this day, various events, lectures and competitions are held for young people and the general public. Students have the opportunity to present their scientific projects to researchers in the field. The main aim of DNA DAY in Slovakia is to commemorate key discoveries in genetics, to raise public awareness of DNA and its importance, and to show that science is an important part of life.
