Duration: 30 minutes
Max. Number of Participants: 15
Summary:
This interactive workshop offers students a unique opportunity to learn about model organisms that play a key role in genetic research. We will focus on three significant models: Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (a single-celled green alga), Caenorhabditis elegans (a nematode), and Drosophila melanogaster (the fruit fly).
Participants will discover why these organisms are used in biological studies, how they contribute to our understanding of genetic processes, and what experimental methods are employed when working with them. The program will include practical demonstrations of handling these organisms and a discussion on their applications in modern science.
